Concrete Deck Spray

Concrete deck spray turns the ordinary into the extraordinary. Concrete deck spray, a spray concrete with epoxy resin mix sold under different brand names, is applied over existing surfaces to create new surfaces for residential and commercial areas. For those tired of the bland, concrete deck spray can open a new world of decorative possibilities.
  1. Durability

    • Concrete deck spray is commonly used to resurface patios, pool decks, entryways, driveways, walkways and foyers. It can be used on old, stained or lightly damaged concrete. Concrete spray covers very small cracks, although a patch may be needed for larger cracks. Spray-coated surfaces are permanent and twice as durable as regular concrete.

    Benefits

    • Along with a beautiful presentation, sprayed surfaces have numerous other benefits. They are water-, mildew- and slip-resistant and don't get hot, making them ideal for pool decks and other areas that attract moisture or bare feet. They require little maintenance and are easily cleaned with regular cleaners and a spray hose. Concrete spray, which holds up well in bitter cold and extreme heat, is more cost-effective than other resurfacing techniques and adds value to homes and commercial properties.

    Decorative Options

    • The number of color and pattern options available with concrete deck spray is limited only by the imagination. The spray can be used to create a solid color coat with either a smooth or a textured surface. Solid colors are also used to create patterns such as brightly colored blocks or squares for children’s areas. By using patterns and stencils, professionals can mimic the look of brick, rock, medallions, tiles, borders and embossed or inlaid motifs.

    Installation

    • Spray concrete coatings are applied by professionals using a high-pressure hopper gun. Depending on the desired results, it may be applied as a splatter coat for a textured finish or knocked down with a trowel for a smoother finish. If stencils are used, a base coat is applied first. The stencils, which come in large rolls, are laid on top of the base coat, then a color coat of spray concrete is applied over the stencil. The stencil is removed and a sealer applied over the entire sprayed surface.
