Collect the doors you want to use for your enclosure. Screen doors, sliding glass doors and old interior doors can all work for this project. In fact, a system that uses both sliding glass and screens can be installed and used year-round.
Install base track along the edge of the deck. Run a bead of caulk below on the deck and mount the base track on it. Secure the track with decking screws in the pre-drilled holes in the track run.
Install the top track in the facing boards of the deck roof. Again, use decking screws in the pre-drilled holes. Caulking is not necessary on the top track as water will not be penetrating this area.
Install two runner wheels on the top and two on the bottom of the door you are planning to install first. The wheels should be inset 1 inch from the end of the door. If you are using metal doors, drill pilot holes to make the installation easier.
Slip the door into the track and slide it all the way to the side of the deck so that it comes in contact with the exterior of the home. Secure it to the wall with L brackets.
Install runner wheels on the next door and slide it into place. Press a silicone joining strip between the two doors. The silicone will expand and contract to compensate for temperature changes.
Fabricate as many doors as you need to complete enclosing the exterior of your deck. Install them in the same manner as above.
