Measure the furring strips to fit snugly between the floor and ceiling. The strips are not weight bearing, so you will not need to drill them into the cinder.
Cut the strips to the necessary size on a table saw, making sure your cuts are 90 degrees.
Apply the glue to the thin side of the furring strip as well as the top and bottom; set the strip into position against the cinder wall. Check that the strip is flush with the cinder and at 90 degrees with the floor.
Measure and space each furring 16 inches apart.
Press the fiberglass insulation into the spaces according to the fiberglass manufacturer’s directions.
Cover the wall with drywall sheets, securing each sheet to the studs by screwing drywall screws into the wood every 6 inches.
Seal the cracks in the drywall sheets with drywall putty by spreading the putty over each crack.
Lay a piece of fiberglass tape over the putty and press it into the putty.
Use your putty knife to further press the tape into the putty and into the crack. The goal is to make the putty completely even with the drywall and fill in the cracks.
