Measure the length and width of one garage door panel.
Measure a piece of rigid foam insulating board to fit the measurements you took in Step 1. Cut the panel to these dimensions using a sharp utility knife.
Spread construction adhesive onto the face of the rigid foam board, using a zigzag pattern to get consistent coverage.
Press the foam board against the surface of the door panel so the adhesive makes solid contact with the door.
Maintain the pressure of the foam board against the door by extending several 2-inch-by-4-inch boards at a diagonal from the foam board to the garage floor. Brace the bottoms of the boards with cement blocks so they can't move. Leave them in place overnight to give the adhesive a chance to dry thoroughly.
