Aerco Boiler Problems

Angelery Engineering Research Company, or Aerco, is a supplier of boilers. The company applies advanced technology to the construction of its units and offers many features for troubleshooting and maintenance.
  1. Significance

    • Some Aerco boiler models, such as the Benchmark series, use LED status indicators to alert owners to potential problems. Owners may use the information displayed on the control panel to adjust and troubleshoot their boilers.

    Types

    • Check the system for a sufficient water level if the status indicator issues a low-water-level warning. If the water level is sufficient, a defective water level probe may be to blame for the false warning.

Some Aerco boilers allow configuration between the port on the front panel of the control box and a laptop computer. The user must use an RS232 adapter cable to connect the laptop to a boiler. The possibility of additional problems, including forgotten passwords and communications issues, may arise from such a connection.

    Considerations

    • Some problems that affect Aerco boilers are not very serious, but others require immediate attention. Examine the LED display for a red "Fault" warning and complete the instructions indicated for the warning. A nonfunctioning LED display may indicate a defective power-supply board or fuse. Replace a damaged fuse or contact a qualified service professional to repair the power-supply board. The LED display on the control panel is an important safety feature; do not ignore warnings and ensure that necessary repairs are made promptly.
