How to Clean Mold From Cement

Mold thrives in damp, cool areas, such as basements, garages or driveways. In many ways, removing mold from concrete is easier than removing mold in frequently used rooms in your home because you don't have to worry about damaging the paint on the walls or have to worry about the smell of bleach. All that's required is bleach, scrubbing and safety.

Instructions

  Put on a respirator and gloves. Black mold can be dangerous to your lungs if inhaled, and bleach can also cause dizziness or fainting and burns on bare skin.

  Mix one part bleach and four parts water in a spray bottle.

  Spray the area affected with the bleach water.

  Scrub the affected area with a sponge or rag until the mold is removed.

  Dry the area completely using a fan or dry rags, and ventilate the area so the fumes dissipate.
