Colored Concrete

• Concrete is available in a wide variety of colors. The colors used in driveway concrete are often chosen to match brick or stone or other design aspects of the home. Concrete colors are either added to the concrete prior to delivery, or brushed on after construction. Alternate between two or three colors of concrete in your driveway in horizontal stripes. Choose earth tones to create a unique but subtle finish to your driveway.

Pebbles and Slate

• Bronze-colored pebbles add a European country flair to your home. To achieve a stylish pebble and slate driveway, embed the pebbles into the concrete onsite or order the concrete with pebbles already added. Line the sides of the driveway with brown slate in random interlocking patterns to create a smooth finish to the symmetrical design.

Stone Mosaic

• Like indoor tile, stone can be used to create a mosaic design in a driveway. You can add designs such as country flags, symbols and decorative icons through the use of marble pieces, colored stone or paint. If you use colored stone pieces that match the texture of your driveway, the pieces will appear to be embedded in the surface. Place the mosaic design near the end of your driveway farthest from the street to complement your front entry.
