Instructions

    • 1

Treat the wooden doors with wood treatment, if they weren’t pretreated.

    • 2

Measure the space where you want your bi-fold door to be installed. Measure your bi-fold doors and trim off any excess wood using the saw. Mark off the area for trimming with a pencil and ruler.

    • 3

Saw 1/8 of an inch off of the door used on the casing side. Sand the sides to remove any rough bits of wood.

    • 4

Position a level and a pencil to mark where the hinges will go on the first door. Space the hinges evenly, with one 3 inches from the top, one in the middle and one 3 inches from the bottom.

    • 5

Lay the doors flat on the floor next to one another to ensure that they are the same size. Mark where the hinges will go on the second door. Double check to see if the marks are equal on each door.

    • 6

Screw the hinges to their corresponding marks using the mounting kit. Attach the handles to the doors.

    • 7

Connect the hinges in the doorway to the door jam. Have your helper hold the door while you attach the mounts from the door jam to the door using the screws provided. Once your screw in all three mounts the door can be released.
