How to Install Sliding Doors for a Pantry

A set of sliding doors gives you easy access to your pantry. The door system comes with the track and guides necessary to hang the doors and allow them to slide freely. While sliding door installation is relatively standard, always read the instructions provided by the manufacturer to ensure you understand any variations for your specific door model. You may need to make small modifications to accommodate your specific door kit.

  Measure the top frame where the track for the door will go. This gives you the measurement for cutting down the track to fit properly. Cut the track according to the measurements.

  Hold the track up to the door so it runs along the middle of the top jamb. Mark the locations of the screw holes on the track. Take the track down from the frame.

  Drill pilot holes at each of the marks. Hold the track back up to the door. Screw the track in place.

  Hold the brackets for the rollers along the back sides of the doors. Drill pilot holes for the brackets. Screw the brackets onto the doors.

  Hang the doors on the track with the rollers. Use the adjustment dial on the roller brackets to adjust the door height.

  Position the door glide on the floor in the middle of the door. With the doors hanging naturally, adjust the glide so it is in the middle of the doors. Drill through the holes in the glide and screw it into place.
