Almost any basement can have a pocket door as long as it has the proper frame work inside the wall. It can be installed into an existing wall and doorway or within a newly framed one with the proper planning.
In an existing door frame, make sure the length of the wall can accommodate the size of the door you have chosen. Measure first before buying a pocket door. If necessary, you can have a custom size made to fit.
It is easier to install the framing for a pocket door built into the wall as the wall is actually being built. Again, measure what size you need and frame the wall accordingly. Make sure the door works properly before finishing the wall with sheet rock.
