Instructions

    • 1

Ensure all components required for installation are included in the Schlage electronic lock package. The printed installation instruction sheet displays all material information with a paper template intended as a guide for cutting new lock holes with the power router. Contact the customer service hot line if the kit is incomplete or lacks instructions.

Use the screwdriver to remove the screws from the indoor side of your existing lock. Disassemble any unfastened parts that come loose within or around the lock. Remove any screws within the exposed area that support or fasten the lock to the edge of the door. The bolt mechanism should slide out. Remove the remaining components and face plates with the screwdriver. Remove hard-to-reach parts or pieces requiring extra leverage and force with the needle-nose pliers.

    • 3

Check the existing lock holes for proper sizing and placement using the paper template. Cut new holes with the power router along the template, if required. Install the deadbolt faceplate with the screwdriver. Fasten it with the appropriate screws included within the kit to the inside edge of the door over the deadbolt hole. Place the deadbolt through the hole in the edge of the door. Use the rubber mallet to lightly tap the deadbolt if it becomes too difficult to manually insert. Forcing the deadbolt with excessive force or twisting motions can damage the part.

Refer to the manufacturer's markings printed on the parts being installed to determine their proper positioning. Fasten the keypad over the hole on the outside of the door with the screwdriver. Pull any excess wire through the mounting plate to prevent damage or complications to electrical connections. Mount the plate on the inside of the door by sliding the plastic pieces through the indicated slots. Use the screwdriver to attach the keypad and mounting plate.

Connect the battery to the mounting plate using the connect cable. Tuck and route the connect cable along the path identified within the instruction sheet. You can damage the cable if you pinch it or run it improperly between moving parts. Install the thumb turn to the mounting plate over the battery with the screwdriver. Point the latch away from the door edge. Install the strike and dust box for added security over the deadbolt plate, if required.

Test the deadbolt and keypad according to the manual. Contact customer support if the lock fails to function properly.
