Instructions

    • 1

Measure the distance from the bottom of your pet's chest to the floor and subtract two inches for clearance. Make a mark on the door at that height.

    • 2

Attach the bottom of the template that came with the pet door to the interior center of the wood door at the mark. Tack in place with the masking tape. Check the template with the level to make sure it is square. Trace the inside of the template with the pencil and remove it from the door.

    • 3

Drill holes at the inside corners of the traced line with the ½ inch drill bit. Do not allow the holes to go outside of the lines. Cut out the pattern in the door by connecting the four holes, along the lines, with the jigsaw.

    • 4

Place the inside frame of the pet door over the hole, square with the level and tape in place. Mark the spots for the bolt holes with the pencil. Remove the frame and drill the out holes for the bolts with the bit a size larger than the bolts.

    • 5

Install the door by placing the bolts through the inside frame of the pet door, through the wooden door. Slide the outside frame of the pet door over the bolts. Attach the washers and nuts to the bolts and secure in place with the wrench.

    • 6

Cut off the bolts that protrudes past the nuts with the hacksaw and file clean.
