How to Replace Sliding Glass Door Directions

Sliding glass doors are commonly installed for easy access to the backyard. Glass doors may need to be replaced when broken or removed to switch directions. For your door to switch directions, it must have a track that is as large as the entire width of the bottom of the door. If not, reversing the direction of the door will not work. If this is the case, you will need to buy a new door with the wider track.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the covers from the roller adjustment screws and turn the screw counterclockwise to lower the door.

    • 2

Lift the door up and out of the track. Do the same with the other door.

    • 3

Remove the bottom track from the door frame by removing the screws. Reverse its direction and screw it back down.

    • 4

Insert the top of the door into the top track, door reversed, and set the roller into the lower track. Do this with the second door as well. Raise the rollers by screwing clockwise until the door is raised.
