Install the Camloc Keensert by using a standard drill to drill the old screw thread out. Use a standard tap to tap a new screw thread in following the tables on the Camloc website (see Resources) to get the exact depth and dimension.
Turn your Keensert into your tapped hole to slightly below the surface of the piece. Knock the Keensert installation device using a hammer to push the keys through your Keensert.
Remove the Camloc Keensert by using a standard drill to remove the material of the insert between the internal thread and the keys. Consult the tables on the Camloc website to get the correct depth. Deflect the keys inward and break them off. Remove your insert using a Drill Out E-Z Out tool or a similar tool. You can now install an insert that is identical in the original hole without any rework of the hole.
