Close the door and mark where the center of the latch plate on the door frame is with a pencil. This should be the center of the door knob.
Center the door knob installation jig over the center mark on the door and secure it by tightening the jig knobs. The jig has a guide hole for the knob and door latch. The latch hole is on the edge of the door, and the knob guide hole is on the front surface of the door in the correct location near the edge for it to operate the latch correctly.
Insert into the drill the bit for the knob that is included with the jig. Drill the knob hole using the hole in the jig as a guide to drill through the door.
Insert the drill bit for the door latch into the drill and drill the latch hole into the edge of the door using the jig as a guide to achieve the correct depth.
Remove the jig from the door.
Insert the latch into the latch hole. Insert half of the door knob into the knob hole on each side of the door and lock it into place with the latch.
Screw the screws provided with the knob into the mounting holes on the knobs with a screwdriver.
