Instructions on How to Install Atruim Weatherstrip Frame Insulation

To prevent air and water from penetrating through the corner of your new Atrium door, install a nail fin and gasket. This is a type of weatherstripping that is used in each corner of the door to prevent the movement of water and air through the frame.

Instructions

      Align the point on the back of a nail fin in the small groove that is along the top of the door frame. Place the nail fin against the frame. Drive a screw into the nail fin that is 2 inches from the left edge using the power drill.

      Drive a second screw 2 inches from the opposite edge with the power drill. Drive two additional screws into the nail fin that are equally spaced in-between the two end screws.

      Place a second nail fin in the groove that is in the left edge of the door frame. Align the top edge of the nail fin with the corner of the previously installed nail fin. Secure the top of the nail fin with a screw that is 2 inches down from the top.

      Set the bottom of the nail fin in place on the door frame. Secure it with a screw 2 that is inches up from the bottom. Drive four additional screws into the nail fin that are equally spaced in-between the two end screws.

      Set and attach a third nail fin on the right side of the door frame by following steps 3 and 4.

      Remove the paper backing from the corner gasket. Set the gasket in place over the top left corner of the nail fin. They should fit tightly to the door frame. Repeat this step for the top right corner.
