• Best Access 8K Series locking solutions offer numerous features. You can re-key the locking devices by simply changing the core of the locking system. Each knob consists of solid knob materials. In addition, the chassis has an extended bearing length and a steel retractor to help with wear resistance. The finishes available for the 8K Series locking systems include satin brass, bright brass, bright bronze and dark bronze.

Specifications

• The manufacturer makes the internal components of the 8K Series locks from corrosion-treated steel or brass. The chassis is 2-1/16 inches in diameter and fits a door with a hole measuring 2-1/8 inches in diameter. The backset is available in three different sizes: 2-3/4, 3-3/4 and 5 inches. In addition, the latch housing fits in a hole measuring 1-inch in diameter along the edge of a door. The locking system adjusts to doors from 1-3/8 to 2 inches in width.

Single-Keyed Locks

• Some single-keyed locks available from Best Access include entrance, hotel guest room and dormitory locks. A single-keyed lock allows you to push and turn the inside button to lock the door or use the key to unlock and lock the locking device. Another type of single-keyed lock is the hotel guest room lock that allows you to open the lock with a key from the outside and the door will lock automatically when you close it. Additionally, dormitory locks work by rotating the key in the inside and outside of the knob to lock them.

Double-Keyed Locks

• Double-keyed locks allow you to use a key in the inside and outside of the knob. Apartment buildings use apartment double-keyed locks; you need to use the key to lock the door from the inside and outside of it. Another type of double-keyed lock is the institutional lock that allows you to turn the knob with a key from the inside and outside of the door, and when the door closes, it automatically locks.

Keyless Locks

• Keyless locks work well for exits and patios doors. The privacy lock has a push button to lock the door and can't lock on the other side. Another keyless lock is the patio lock that locks by pushing a button and unlocking when you turn the knob.
