Shiny brass interior door knobs are common fixtures in many homes, but unless they're of superior quality, they'll begin to show wear after a few years of regular use. Oil-rubbed brass is a dark bronze color with a matte finish often used for faucets and other kitchen and bathroom fixtures. Though oil-rubbed brass is similar to regular or burnished brass, the two styles don't match. If you've recently redecorated with oil-rubbed fixtures, you may realize you don't like the way your existing shiny door knobs coordinate. Changing them out is a simple process that doesn't typically require a professional.
