How to Remove a Baldwin Brass Door Rosette

Baldwin hardware manufactures a wide array of door knobs and rosettes to coordinate with any home decor style, such as vintage, elegant, casual or modern. A door rosette, which is a decorative ring located at the base of a door knob, conceals the knob's latch and lock assembly. You can change a Baldwin brass door rosette by removing its set screw and metal clips to give your home an updated, personalized look.

Instructions

    • 1

Look under the Baldwin door handle to locate the rosette's set screw.

    • 2

Insert the correct size Allen wrench into the set screw and rotate it counterclockwise to remove the hardware. Grasp the handle and slide it straight out from the knob spindle to expose the rosette.

    • 3

Remove the lock lever from the door knob assembly by grasping its back button and turning it in a counterclockwise direction.

    • 4

Find the bottom slot in the center of the rosette. Locate the small metal clip that holds the rosette flush to the door surface.

    • 5

Slide a slotted screw driver into the rosette's bottom slot to release the metal clip. Grasp the rosette's outside edge and pull it away from the door.
