Lay out the four pieces of the door frame on an open workspace. Dab a small amount of silicone caulk, which is included with the door kit, on the ends of the side panels where they meet the door sill.
Attach the sill panel to the two side panels. Secure these parts with the screws provided with the door kit. Repeat the process with the head jamb -- the top panel. Wipe away any excess silicone caulk with a rag.
Tilt the door frame up and slide it into place with the help of a partner. Drive one of the included screws through the center hole on the head jamb.
Check the side and sill panels with a carpenter's level to make sure they are all plumb and level. Add waterproof shims, as necessary, to make everything even.
Install the top and side flanges with the screws included with the door kit. Drive screws through the pre-drilled holes in the door jamb to secure it to the building. Fill in any gaps between the frame and doorway with non-expanding insulation foam.
Insert the top of the stationary door into the frame then slide the bottom edge into place. Install the metal clips included with the door kit and secure the door in place with the supplied screws.
Repeat the process with the sliding door. Ensure that the door is securely on the roller track in the door frame. Raise or lower the roller track, as necessary, with a screwdriver inserted into the adjustment hole near the bottom of the frame -- this will look like a large, flat head screw that can be twisted with a screwdriver..
Install the door hardware, including the handle, latch and catch mechanism. These are held in place with screws included with the door kit.
Install trim if necessary or desired. The trim will have to be cut to size so you can install it over the frame. Secure the trim to the building with finishing nails and paint or stain it as desired.
