How do I Install Quantus Recessed Lights?

Quantus recessed lighting can improve the look and function of any room in your home. Recessed lighting can be strategically placed to light specific areas of your home. Installing Quantus recessed lighting is not hard to do, but can take some time. Plan to install the lights during the day when there is plenty of light available to work by. There is a lot of electrical work involved with the installation of recessed lighting. While most homeowners can install recessed lighting on their own, those who are unfamiliar with electrical work should consult with a licensed electrician.

  Shut off the power to your home at the breaker box.

  Find and mark the studs in the ceiling.

  Mark the location for the Quantus can lights on the ceiling. The lights should be located approximately 6 feet apart and between ceiling joists.

  Remove the existing light fixture with a screwdriver.

  Cut the holes for the can lights with a jigsaw.

  Run an electrical cable from the existing light fixture to the can lighting. Drill holes in the ceiling as necessary to run the cable.

  Push the Quantus can lights up through the holes in the ceiling and secure them to the ceiling joists or per manufacturer directions.

  Install a cable connector on each of the can lights. Match up the red wires from the light and the cable. Repeat with the black wires and the green wires. Screw a wire nut over the end of each of the pairs of wires.

  Add the trim pieces to the Quantus can lights per manufacturer directions. Put a light bulb in the can light. Turn on the power.
