Nail or screw furring strips around the perimeter of the room, 2 inches from the walls. Use a chalk line to create a reference line along each wall.
Measure the width of your metal ceiling panels. Install furring strips across the room in one direction. Use the width of the panels as the distance the center of each strip is spaced. You will nail the metal ceiling panels to these strips.
Use a level to check that the furring strips are all level. Use wooden shims to raise the level of the furring strips if necessary.
Install furring strips perpendicular to the strips on the ceiling at 4-foot intervals. These strips will be where you will nail the ends of the metal panels. Keep these furring strips even with the strips already installed.
Have an assistant hold up the first panel in the corner of the room. Nail up the panels with decorative head nails, placing a nail every 12 inches.
Hold up the second panel, overlapping the edge of the first panel slightly. Nail this panel in place. Continue across the room.
Measure the remaining distance If the final piece in a row must be cut, and mark this distance on the metal panel. Cut the panel with tin snips.
Measure the placement when encountering an obstacle, or hold the panel up and mark where it needs to be cut. Cut out the shape with tin snips.
Cover the gaps around the edges of the ceiling with metal cornice. Nail the cornice up with the same decorative nails. Cut the corners with tin snips
