Instructions

Locate any corner of the carpet and gently pull it up using a pair of pliers. Use your hands once you can grip the edges, and gently pull back the carpet until you reach the crease. Pull back the carpet evenly to avoid damaging it.

    • 2

Cut the carpet free if it's stuck to any of the walls. Be careful as you lift the carpet off of the tack strips, which fix the carpet to the floor near the wall.

    • 3

Use a power stretcher to pull the carpet tight so there are no wrinkles. Move the stretcher at 18-inch intervals and always keep it 6 inches from the wall. Continue this process until you remove all wrinkles from the carpet.

Pull the carpet tight using a knee kicker if the power stretcher does not fit. Remember to stay 6 inches away from the wall.

    • 5

Pull the carpet back down onto the tack strips and cut excess carpet fabric using a knife.
