Instructions

    • 1

Determine how many wine bottles you wish to store. From there, decide the number of bottles to be held on each shelf as well as the number of shelves.

    • 2

Figure out the dimensions of your outdoor storage cabinet. Depth should be the height of your large wine bottle plus about 3 inches. Width should be large enough to accommodate the number of bottles to be held on each shelf when laying on their sides plus 2 inches per bottle. Height should be enough to accommodate the number of shelves you have. Add about 10 inches per shelf.

    • 3

Figure out how much wood you will need. At the very least, you will need one piece that is width by height, two pieces that are width by depth, two pieces that are depth by height, one additional piece that is depth by width for each shelf, one piece that is width by 6 inches for each shelf, and additional wood for edging and legs.

    • 4

      Purchase wood at a lumberyard.

    • 5

Purchase other supplies like paint or stain and nails or screws.

    • 6

Measure and cut each piece of wood so that you have a top, bottom, back, shelves, two sides and a strip of wood for each shelf.

    • 7

In each strip cut one 4 inch round hold every 2 inches. You should have one hold for each bottle for the shelf.

    • 8

      Cut the strip in half.

    • 9

Attach one half about 2-3 inches from the front of each shelve and one half about 2-3 inches from the back.

    • 10

Attach shelves to the back of the wine cabinet.

    • 11

      Attach sides, top and bottom.

    • 12

Attach legs to the base of the wine cabinet

    • 13

Paint or stain the wood to match your personal preferences.
