How to Put Transition Strips in Laminate Floors

If you are putting in a laminate floor you have to put transition strips in. These strips go between the laminate floor and other floorng types, carpet, tile, linoleum, and wood. Do it yourself and save money.

      Transition strips come in many styles. Choose the strip that is right for your project. There are strips that go over both floorings and some that are like a bull nose.

      Cut the bracket or hold down strip to fit. Screw down this strip. If you are on concrete.mark and drill concrete and put in anchors to screw in to.

      Cut your transition strip to fit opening. Saw on a mitre saw or cut from the backside so you do not damage strip. Invest in a good saw blade to cut your strips. Cut the strips outside so you do not have dust and filings on your floor.

      Snap transition strip into hold down or bracket. You may have to use a rubber mallet or a hammer and block of wood to tap it into bracket.

      Clean floor after you are finished so dust does not get all over.
