How to Use a Mytee Speedster

The Mytee Speedster extracts dirt from indoor carpet and upholstery using warm water extraction, the deep-cleaning method professionals use. In contrast with light surface cleaning, the Mytee Speedster is capable of penetrating deep within the material to remove the most difficult stains without leaving behind a lot of residue. The Mytee Speedster's portable design makes it convenient to use and own, but it also comes with a high voltage hazard and detailed instructions. If you pay careful attention to the warnings and directions, though, you will have a clean carpet (or couch) in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the lid of the solution tank, and fill it up completely with a Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) Certified cleaning agent. This solution should be diluted according to the instructions found on its bottle. Two CRI Certified cleaning agents include Nilodor 2001 Extraction Cleaner and Pro's Choice Liqua Pro High Performance Extraction Emulsifier. The lid of the solution tank carries the Mytee logo and is on the front of the machine (on the opposite side of the handle).

    • 2

Attach the hoses. Attach the solution hose to the machine, making sure the disconnects snap together firmly, and attach the other end of the solution hose to the wand. Attach the vacuum hose to the recovery tank, and inspect the hoses for damage during this time.

    • 3

Plug the machine's cord into a grounded, three-prong wall outlet. Connect the solution hose, and make sure it is firmly secured.

    • 4

Turn the pump switch on, and pull up on the power prime lever for 30 seconds to prime the pump if you have Model 1000-200, 1001-200, 1003, 1005, or 1006. Pull up on the wand lever to release the air in the line. Hold the lever until you have a steady flow of water coming out of the wand.

    • 5

Turn the pump switch on, and hold down the wand trigger lever to clear air out of the line until there is a consistent flow of water to prime the pump if you have Model 1000 or 1001.

    • 6

Turn on the heater and wait eight to 10 minutes for the water to heat up. When the water heats, turn on the vacuum and start cleaning.

    • 7

Relieve water pressure from the tool by squeezing the trigger for five seconds after turning the main power switch off. Then, disconnect the hose.

    • 8

Turn the machine off, unplug the power cord, and remove the solution & vacuum hoses. Lift up the drain valve lever to empty the solution tank.

    • 9

Drain and dry the vacuum hose using the drain hose provided, and store the machine in a dry area in the upright position with the recovery tank open to promote air circulation.
