How to Use Famowood Filler

Famowood wood filler is designed to fill cracks, gouges and other imperfections in the surface of wood. When it dries, the solvent-based wood filler behaves just like the surrounding wood.   • Putty knife
  • Extra-fine grit sandpaper

      Open the can of wood filler. Stir the contents. The wood filler should be a smooth consistency. If the Famowood wood filler is old, there may be dried filler floating around. Dissolve these solids before you proceed. Pour Famowood solvent into the wood filler a few drops at a time and then stir thoroughly until the wood filler returns to a liquid consistency.

      Fill the wood defect using the putty knife. Press the Famowood wood filler in until you fill the defect to just above the grade of the surrounding wood. Leave the Famowood wood filler to dry for 20 minutes.

      Sand the surface flush with the surrounding wood.
