How to Make a Partition Wall Made of Plasterboard

Partition walls can transform a large space into smaller, individual rooms. This is helpful when you need to divide an area for meeting, events or to create smaller work spaces. Although you can buy partition walls from an office supply store, you can save money by making a wall partition yourself using a few basic hardware supplies and tools, such as plasterboard. Using plasterboard also allows you to paint the partition wall more readily than other types of material.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut three rectangles from plasterboard using a circular saw to measure 36 inches wide, 72 inches long each.

    • 2

Lay the plasterboard rectangles flat, lining them up along the long edges.

    • 3

Secure the three plasterboard rectangles in place by tacking on three hinges along both seams with a hammer.

    • 4

Screw two caster wheels onto the bottom edge of each plasterboard rectangle, spacing the wheels out evenly.

    • 5

Stand the plasterboard partition upright, then paint the front and back using latex paint. Allow the paint to dry for 12 to 18 hours before using the partition wall.
