Measure the length and height of your wall with a measuring tape to determine how many drywall sheets you need.
Lay a sheet of drywall longways so that one end meets the corner of the wall. Mark the center point of the farthest stud that the drywall sheet overlaps at the top and bottom of the sheet with a pencil. Draw a chalk line between the top and bottom marks and snap the chalk line to create a cutting line.
Cut the drywall along the chalk line with a utility knife. Snap the sheet along the cut line to remove the extra drywall.
Mark the center point of each stud that the drywall sheet covers at the top and bottom of the sheet. Draw and snap a chalk line between each top and bottom measurements.
Drive self-drilling drywall screws through the drywall into the aluminum studs at 4-inch intervals along each chalk line with an electric screwdriver. Place the first screw about 1/2-inch from the top of the drywall sheet.
Mark the drywall sheet at the top and bottom about 1/2-inch from each vertical edge. Snap a chalk line between each top and bottom mark. Drive self-drilling drywall screws at 4-inch intervals along the chalk lines, starting about 1/2-inch from the top.
Continue installing drywall sheets beside and on top of the installed sheets until you have covered the wall. Cut the drywall sheets as necessary with a utility knife to fit the dimensions of the wall and accommodate electrical outlets and light switch boxes.
