Instructions

    • 1

Purchase the wood that the shot glass display case will be made from. Narrow down options by deciding the color and durability of the wood. Opt for prestained wood to save the trouble of sanding and staining wood.

    • 2

Cut the wood into the correct measurements using a saw. Cut three 2-by-4s down to 24 inches each and two 2-by-4s down to 18 inches each.

    • 3

Cut a sheet of plywood to a rectangle that measures 24-by-18 inches.

    • 4

Position the wood together to form the display case. The two 24-inch pieces of wood should be positioned horizontally and they should be 18 inches apart. Add the 18-inch pieces of wood to create a full, rectangular frame.

    • 5

Secure the frame by hammering 4-inch nails into each corner. To ensure that they’re connected, use two nails on each corner.

    • 6

Create a shelf by hammering the last 24-inch piece of wood into the center of the frame, horizontally, with 4-inch nails on each side.

    • 7

Lay the cut piece of plywood on one side of the frame to create a backing. Hammer one 4-inch nail into each corner to connect the back with the display case frame. Hammer one 4-inch nail into the center of the plywood to connect with the shelf.

    Shelves and Dividers

    • 8

Cut as many 24-inch long strips from plywood, as needed, based on how many shelves will be needed.

    • 9

Draw horizontal lines on the back piece of plywood where the shelves will be placed. Each line should be 3 inches apart from each other. There might be extra room above the highest shelf.

    • 10

Cut 3-inch strips from plywood. These short strips will act as dividers.

    • 11

Draw vertical lines on the back piece of plywood where the dividers will be placed. Each line should be at least 2.5 inches apart from one another.

    • 12

Glue the shelves and dividers in place, according to the drawn lines. It may be necessary to reinforce them with a hammer and nails.
