DIY: Plant Display Racks

Plant display racks work well to hold small herbs, flowers or other types of plants. They are often simple in design and are often made out of basic pine lumber. Plant display racks usually hold three or four small pots and support them on their sides by a couple wooden dowels. Racks like these take very little time to build and can be done easily with little carpentry experience. On top of their simple design, a racks like this can be stacked two or three high to save space.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay an 8-inch board flat. Draw a line across the board so it is parallel with the 8-inch edge and 1 inch away. Draw another line like this that is 1 inch away from the opposite 8-inch edge. Draw one more line that is perpendicular to the first two and 4 inches away from both 6-inch edges. Repeat this process on the other 8-inch board.

    • 2

Drill a 3/4-inch hole that is ½-inch deep where the lines intersect. These holes will hold the ends of your two dowels. Erase the remaining pencil markings.

    • 3

Position the 8-inch boards so they are on their 6-inch edges, 25-inches apart, with their holes aligned and facing each other. Place the dowels inside the holes, screw through the boards and into the dowels.

    • 4

Set the 24-inch board on top of 6-inch edges of the other two boards. The corners formed should be flush. Screw through the 26-inch board and into the ends of the 8-inch boards.

    • 5

Set your pots on the 26-inch board, so they rest between the dowels.
