Set the 53-½-inch boards on edge, parallel and 27 ½ inches apart. Set the 27-½-inch boards perpendicularly between them on edge, parallel and 3 ½ inches apart. They should be centered on the 53-½-inch boards so their 4-inch-wide sides are 23 ½ inches away from the ends of the 53-½-inch boards. Screw through the 53-½-inch boards, and into the ends of the 27-½-inch boards. Use eight screws for this task.
Position the 60-inch board on its end, perpendicular to the 27-½-inch boards and so it is flat against one of the 53-½-inch boards. The end of the board should be flush with the bottom edges of the other three boards. Screw through the 53-½-inch board, and into the 60-inch board. Use two screws for this task and repeat the process on the opposite side using the last 60-inch board.
Lay the 30-½-inch board on the top ends of the 60-inch boards so the corners are flush. Screw through the 30-½-inch board and into the 60-inch boards. Use four screws for this task.
Position your target against the stand so the top edge is flush with the top of the 30-½-inch board, and so the sides are flush with the 60-inch boards. Nail the target to the stand in this position.
