How to Develop a Concrete Pre-pour Checklist

As a construction manager in charge of a particular project, you must be aware of each step to come. When you're using concrete in renovations, it's important to have all the materials you need prepared. There is often little room to fix concrete once the concrete has been poured. One way to know you have everything in position is by creating a pre-pour checklist and going through it before you begin the work. The list helps ensure that all of the proper documentation is in place and the project is ready for concrete installation.

Instructions

    • 1

Look over the final paperwork to be familiar with the renovation process. Paperwork includes concrete order forms, specifications and requirements for pouring concrete, and machinery instructions.

    • 2

Analyze the frame and forming that will be used to shape the poured concrete. Make sure dowels and reinforcements are in the proper place, joints are formed properly in the framework and everything is securely in place to accommodate the concrete.

    • 3

Verify all of the necessary tools are in place prior to pouring the concrete. They must also be working properly, so test them out before adding concrete. You should also have an extra set of tools to use as a backup in the event any tools break, as recommended by the Today's Concrete Technology website.

Move forward with the project once the pre-pour checklist has been gone over and verified. Assign a qualified team to begin pouring the concrete into the site for project completion.
