Instructions

    • 1

Measure the area you want to cut and mark it with chalk. Allow an extra 1/4 to 1/2 inches around the cutting area to accommodate the concrete saw.

    • 2

Position the concrete saw on the bottom chalk mark. Start the saw blade at full speed and slowly move the blade until it touches the concrete. Refrain from forcing the blade into the concrete. Cut to a depth of about 1/4 to 1/2 inches on the first pass.

    • 3

Repeat step two until you have cut completely through the concrete on all sides, stopping before you reach the corners.

    • 4

Position at least three wood shims under the concrete that will be removed. The wood shims will hold the weight once you cut through the entire piece. Position one wood shim in the middle and one one either end.

    • 5

Drill out the corners. Start on the bottom corners and finish with the top corners. Remove the concrete after you have drilled out all four corners. Chip away any areas that are still connected.
