How to Put a Miter Saw Stand Togather

Miter saw stands are wooden stands or tables that are used for holding miter saws. They are often built out of construction lumber and have a plywood top for the miter saw to be mounted to. These types of stands are very basic in design. They are similar to workbenches and should be put together to be just as durable as workbenches. Miter saw stands are longer and more narrow than normal workbenches because they are used for cutting long boards.

Instructions

    • 1

Position two 48-inch boards on edge and parallel. Space the boards 15 inches apart and place two 15-inch boards perpendicularly between them on edge. Space the 15-inch boards 45 inches apart. Screw through the 48-inch boards and into the 15-inch boards using eight screws total. You should have an 18-by-48-inch frame with flush corners. Repeat this step so you have two frames.

    • 2

Lay one of the frames flat and position a 36-inch board inside each corner so they are perpendicular to the frame. The ends of these boards should all be flush with one side of the frame. Screw through the frame and into these boards. They are the legs to your miter saw stand. Use eight screws for this step.

    • 3

Turn the stand upright so the stand is on its legs. Lay the other frame flat and set the legs of the stand inside of it. Lift the lower frame up so it is 12 inches above the ground and parallel with the top frame. Screw through the frame and into the legs using another eight screws.

    • 4

Set your plywood on the top frame so all of the edges are flush. This is the top to your miter saw stand. Screw the plywood to the stand using sixteen screws.
