How to Make Simple Wooden Tent Frames

Lay a 60-inch board flat on the miter saw and cut the end at a 30-degree angle. Do not alter the length of this board. Repeat this process with the other three 60-inch boards. Cut the other ends of the boards at a 60-degree angle. When the boards lay flat, they should resemble the shape of an irregular trapezoid.

Lay a pair of 60-inch boards flat so that the ends cut at a 30-degree angle are against each other so their ends are flush. Screw through the edges of the boards to secure them together. Use two screws for each board so that the pairs of screws are pointed at each other. Repeat this step with the other pair of 60-inch boards. These are the end pieces to your simple tent frame.

Position the ends of the tent frame upright, parallel and 80 inches apart. Position an 80-inch board between the top of the ends at a right angle so that it is flush with a pair of corresponding 60-inch boards and 2 inches away from the peak of the frames. Screw through the ends and into this board with two screws for each end. Repeat this process on the opposite side of the tent frame so the pair of 80-inch boards are aligned.

Screw through the ends and into this board with four screws. Repeat this process on the opposite side so that these two 80-inch boards are aligned with each other. This frame is now ready for its cover and use. Tie or staple any plastic, cloth or other material over the entire frame, but leave an opening for an entrance.
