Compare the total length and width of the scissor truss with that of your structure to ensure a proper fit.
Attach a few 2-by-4 braces to either side of the structure where the scissor truss is being installed. The 2-by-4 braces should extend above the structure about as high as the truss will. Secure with nails.
Set the scissor truss in place on top of the structure and secure either end to the 2-by-4 braces with nails. You might need a crane to lift the truss if it's particularly large. Be sure you have a licensed, qualified crane operator.
Nail the areas of the scissor truss that overhang the structure into place. Once you start erecting the walls of the structure, you will continue to secure the scissor truss in this way.
