How to Make a Driftwood Rack

Keep your scarfs, coats and hats off the floor with a homemade driftwood rack. Mount your driftwood rack to a wall next to an entrance to your home. Driftwood racks like these are especially decorative additions to beach houses and camps. If you find driftwood nearby, this simple piece of furniture can be a great conversation-starter. Build your own rack using driftwood and wooden dowels in minutes spent in a wood-shop.

Glue a dowel into each hole. Let the glue dry according to the instructions listed on the container.

Locate studs in the wall using your stud finder. Position your driftwood rack against the wall so it is horizontal. Screw through the rack and into the studs. Use one 5-inch screw for each stud.
