How to Make Theatre Tables

Theater tables add greatly to the ambiance of any theater, whether it's for comedic performances or drama. Acrylic and glass are often used for modern-styled tables. These materials are strong, durable and easy to clean. Use a round glass top for the table top as it will make it easy for ushers to move around the tables when providing food or drinks.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw two lines across your acrylic disk so they intersect at a right angle over the center of the disk. Use your square to ensure they intersect at a right angle. Measure 3 inches away from the intersection at four different directions and drill a 2 1/2 inch deep 1 inch-diameter hole at each of these measurements. This is the base to your theater table. Wipe off any remaining pen marks.

    • 2

Glue an acrylic rod into each of the holes with your acrylic adhesive. Be sure they are all positioned as far in as they can go so the top ends of the rods are even. Let the adhesive dry according to the instructions listed on the package.

    • 3

Set the glass table top on top of the acrylic rods so its center is aligned with the center of the base. Glue the glass to the rods in this position using a dab of adhesive that is the size of a dime for each rod. Let the adhesive dry before use.
