Attach the pedestal sink to the floor as directed in the installation instructions. Attach the sink P-trap to the sink drain outlet as directed on the package containing the P-trap kit.
Make up a short 1 1/2-inch “S”-shaped PVC drain pipe assembly with two PVC female right-angle couplings and three short lengths of PVC pipe. Use a hacksaw to cut the pipe to size. This is to lower the waste water outlet leading from the P-trap to a position just above the height of the waste water inlet on the up-flush toilet macerator pump. Ensure that the outlet is high enough to provide a gravity drainage slope of 1/4-inch per foot between the sink waste water outlet and macerator waste water inlet. Assemble the fitting using PVC glue as directed on the glue container.
Slide one end of the assembly into the P-trap, position the outlet so that it points toward the macerator pump and tighten the P-trap female coupling firmly by hand. Finally, glue a straight female coupling onto the outlet end to accept the macerator pump waste water inlet pipe.
Place the macerator pump assembly on the floor 1/4-inch from the wall at the desired toilet location. Mark the floor mounting position through the two mounting brackets on both sides of the macerator pump base with a felt-tipped pen. Slide the unit away from the wall.
Use a hammer drill to bore the two mounting holes in the floor with a masonry drill bit sized to suit the lag bolts provided in the installation kit. Slide the macerator housing back into position and use a nut driver to secure the unit to the floor with two lag bolts. Do not overtighten the bolts and flatten the rubber feet on the base of the macerator housing.
Measure and cut a length of 1 1/2-inch PVC pipe with a hacksaw. Make it long enough to span the distance between the sink waste water outlet and the macerator waste water inlet. Glue the pipe to the sink waste water outlet female coupling by applying PVC glue to the matching faces of the coupling and the pipe. Insert the end of the macerator pipe into the female sink drain coupling and hold the pipe steady for a count of three to allow the glue to set.
Place the hose clamp provided in the kit over the flexible coupling on the macerator waste water inlet situated on the lower side of the tank. Insert the sink drain pipe into the coupling and tighten the hose clamp firmly with the nut driver.
Measure and cut a piece of 3/4-inch PVC pipe long enough to reach from the previously installed vertical waste pipe on the adjacent wall to the waste pipe outlet on the top of the macerator housing. Glue one end of the pipe into the waste pipe as described in Step 6. Place a hose clamp over the right-angle coupling provided with the toilet. Insert the 3/4-inch waste pipe into the coupling and tighten the hose clamp securely. Slide the other end of the coupling over the waste outlet on top of the macerator and tighten the built-in hose clamp securely.
Make up a short vent pipe transition piece by gluing two right-angle PVC couplings to a measured length of 1 1/2-inch PVC pipe. One right-angle coupling must point vertically downward toward the vent outlet on top of the macerator, and the other coupling must face horizontally sideways toward the previously installed vent pipe in the wall. Glue two short lengths of 1 1/2-pipe into each of the right-angle couplings to enable you to glue one end of the assembly to the vent pipe female coupling, and then connect the other end to the macerator vent coupling.
Glue the outlet end of the transition piece to the female coupling on the previously installed vent pipe. Connect the other end of the transition piece to the macerator vent with the coupling provided and two hose clamps; tighten the hose clamps securely with the nut driver.
Slide the up-flush toilet assembly into place. Line up the ceramic waste outlet pipe on the back of the unit with the flexible waste inlet pipe on the front of the macerator housing. Align the toilet at a right angle to the wall, mark the position of the two floor mounting holes on either side of the toilet base with the felt-tipped pen and slide the toilet out of the way.
Use the hammer drill to bore the two mounting holes in the floor with a masonry drill bit sized to suit the lag bolts provided.
Lubricate the ceramic toilet waste outlet pipe with a thin layer of dishwashing liquid. Place the two stainless steel clamps provided over the flexible waste coupling on the macerator. Slide the toilet back into position and work the flexible coupling onto the toilet waste outlet pipe, position the stainless steel clamps and tighten them securely with the nut driver.
Insert the two lag bolts through the holes in the toilet base and tighten them securely with the nut driver.
Connect the toilet tank to the water supply shut off valve with a braided stainless steel water supply hose, and snug both compression couplings down with an adjustable wrench. Do not damage the rubber O rings inside the couplings by over-tightening.
Turn the shut-off valve on and allow the toilet tank to fill up. Insert the macerator pump power cord into the previously installed GFCI receptacle and flush the toilet. You will hear a faint humming noise as the macerator pump kicks in and pumps the waste water upward. Finally, check the entire installation for leaks and correct if necessary.
