Mounting a Marble Vanity Top

Marble vanity tops can be an attractive addition in many bathroom designs. Marble is a stone, which can be shaped to fit any size or shape of vanity. Unlike a laminate top, a marble top is not screwed into the vanity, but instead is attached with a silicone adhesive that holds it gently in place without damaging the stone. The sink is also held in place with adhesives, so invasive procedures are not needed on either the marble or the vanity during installation.

Instructions

    • 1

Rest the marble top on a towel until it is ready for installation to keep it from being scratched.

    • 2

Wipe down the edge of the vanity cabinet to remove any dust or debris. Wipe down the edge of the marble's underside where it will come in contact with the vanity top to remove any debris from this area.

    • 3

Squeeze a thin line of silicone adhesive around the edge of the vanity top. Position the bead of adhesive in the center of the vanity rails; the weight of the marble will squeeze it out to the sides.

    • 4

Gently lift the marble above the vanity and lower it into place. Once it makes contact with the vanity, lift it up again briefly. This will expose the adhesive to more air, which will let it cure faster.
