Jacuzzi Espree 6060 Installation

The Jacuzzi Espree 6060 is a triangular-shaped unit that can accommodate two people. The tub features water jets that can massage each bather’s back, neck and shoulders, as well as TheraPro jets that provide hydrotherapy to the rest of the body. The Espree 6060’s ReapidHeat technology helps maintain the temperature of the water so you do not have to refill the tub with hot water. It also features a Tru-Level base system, which helps make installation of the tub simpler. Before you install an Espree 6060, Jacuzzi recommends you be familiar with you local building codes.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the drain/overflow pipes. The overflow pipe should measure 18 1/2 inches, and the connecting drain pipe should measure 12 1/4 inches. Jacuzzi states that it is your responsibility to make sure the drains are watertight. Drain leakage is not included in the Espree 6060 warrantee.

    • 2

Install the faucet, making sure there is a non-flammable protective barrier between the soldering work and tub. Jacuzzi recommends you hire a qualified plumber to install the faucet and drain/overflow pipes.

    • 3

Prepare the cut-out hole for the tub to create the decking. Without a tub skirt, the two longest sides of the tub at the right angle measure 57 7/8 inches. The adjoining sides, which are also at right angles, measure 22 11/16 inches. The front of the tub measures 49 3/4 inches. To create the cut-out hole, you need to make a deck so the tub sits above the ground or create a hole in the floor. The flooring should be able to hold at least 971 pounds, or 38.8 pounds per square foot. The decking should consist of support members that are at least 22 inches tall, a 2-inch subfloor, flashing, mortar or floor adhesive and flooring, such as tile. Consult with an engineer regarding the structural integrity of the floor if you are installing the Espree 6060 on an upper level of the home.

    • 4

Make the finishing details on the tub’s deck. Cover the deck to protect it while you insert the tub. If you wish, you can install insulation within the tub surround. According to Jacuzzi, you should make sure you have enough ventilation under the deck so there is sufficient airflow and cooling around the tub’s pump and motor with a clearance of at least 3 inches between the tub and the support member.

    • 5

Turn off the power supply to the ground fault circuit interrupters, also known as GFCIs.

    • 6

Place pieces of scrap lumber at the edges of the cut-out hole you made, on top of the decking. The lumber will help support the tub as you lower it into the cut-out hole.

    • 7

Lower the Espree 6060 into the cut-out hole, inserting the end with the motor and pump first. Allow the tub to rest on the pieces of scrap lumber. You need to tilt the tub as you insert it into the hole in the decking.

    • 8

Inspect the plumbing, fittings and control lines to make sure there is no damage. The components on the tub should not be disconnected or touch the support members or surface substrate of the decking.

    • 9

Plug the power cord into the GFCI outlets, and connect the flex water supply lines to the faucet.

    • 10

Carefully remove the scrap pieces of lumber, and gently lower the tub into the opening. Align the tub so you can connect the drain.

    • 11

Turn on the power supply to the tub, and test the various components of the system, such as the jets.

    • 12

Seal the space between the tub rim and decking with caulk.
