Moen Shower Options

A shower used to be just a quick way to get clean before rushing off to work in the morning or falling into bed at night. With special valves, nozzles and micro-processor controls, showers can now soothe with different flow settings, massage, define temperature ranges and provide relaxing steam. Depending on the model, Moen showers can provide one or more of these options.
  1. Moen

    • Founded in 1937 and based in North Olmstead, Ohio, Moen is a private company that designs and makes plumbing products for kitchens and bathrooms both in the U.S. and around the world. It manufactures such fixtures as kitchen faucets, showerheads, sinks and tubs at facilities in Ohio, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and China. Common elements on its products include a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects and leaks, a Lifeshine finish that does not tarnish or corrode and a common valve system that allows upgrades to shower faucets without needing to replace plumbing.

    Showerheads

    • Moen’s showerheads range in price from $27.50 for a one-function model in chrome and polished brass finishes to the $616 handheld Weymouth, in chrome, nickel and bronze finishes with porcelain inlays, a 30-inch slider bar and 69-inch hose, and a 3-inch-diameter head with invigorating spray. The biggest $457 Waterhill rain-shower head provides 10 inches of vigorous, self-pressuring spray coupled with a one-function massaging rinse. And the Refresh 4-inch-diameter hand shower comes with body sprays and five showering functions. It retails for $391. All prices are from Moen and are accurate at the time of publication.

    Spa Systems

    • The Moen vertical spa system sprays water at both the head and the body at the same time and uses at least two handles: one to control water pressure and another to direct the flow to one or more nozzles. The lowest price $467 Kingsley is available in six finishes and has one main showerhead, four body sprays and two lever handles. A “temperature memory” feature prevents hot and cold surges. The highest price ioDIGITAL Vertical Spa costs $4,028 and boasts a 7-inch showerhead, four body sprays and a handheld shower on a bar. It has four programmable presets that control temperature and flow and a controller with two knob handles and small digital display screen.

    Tub/Shower

    • Tub/shower options include a showerhead, a faucet and a spout for the tub. The cheapest Caldwell costs $57 and is available in chrome, bronze and nickel finishes. It has a one-lever faucet that controls both temperature and water flow. The most expensive ExactTemp Transfer Tub/Shower has eight finishes and costs $1,338. The unit has two levers to control flow at the 7-inch diameter showerhead or at the 7.25-inch- long spout. A special valve allows precise temperature control.
