Instructions

    • 1

Measure the space available using a tape measure.

    • 2

Configure how the door will be installed in your space. The design of the Kohler pivot shower doors allow you to install them to open to the left or the right.

    • 3

Remove all the shower door parts from the packaging and spread them out on the floor so that they are easy to find. Pick up the wall jamb and install the adjustment clips at the pre-drilled holes using a Phillips screwdriver and the screws for the adjustment clips. Do not tighten the screws all the way at this point. Just tighten them enough to stay in place.

    • 4

Place the wall jamb against the wall where you will install it. Use a level to ensure the wall jamb is vertical. Mark the locations of the holes you need to drill using the marker. Using the drill and a 5/16-inch drill bit, slowly drill the holes needed to install the screw anchors. If you are drilling through ceramic tile, ensure you use a carbide-tipped masonry bit to avoid splitting or cracking the material.

    • 5

Push a screw anchor into each of the holes. Place the wall jamb on the wall and install the retaining screws using a Phillips screwdriver and the 2 inch screws that come with the door unit. Do not tighten the screws all the way at this point. Repeat the process to install the remaining doorjamb on the opposite wall. Ensure it lines up correctly with the first jamb.

Clean the ledge where you will install the bottom track using some rags. Measure the distance between the two wall jambs using a tape measure. Cut the bottom track to a size equaling the distance between the two doorjambs using a hacksaw. File any rough edges away after you cut the track using a metal file.

    • 7

Insert the bottom track between the wall jambs. Remove the bottom track after you check that it fits properly, and spread silicone sealant into the groove on the bottom of the track using a caulking gun. Place the bottom track in between the doorjambs and press on it firmly. Tape the bottom track down using masking tape.

Place the hinge jamb on the floor in front of you. Pick up the door hinge and insert it into the slot on the hinge jamb. Ensure the hinge is flush with the top of the hinge jamb and install the 3/8-inch panhead screws that came with the door unit using a Phillips screwdriver.

Line up the holes on the hinge with the door panel. Install the 3/8-inch panhead screws to secure the door to the hinge using a Phillips screwdriver. Place the cover on the hinge jamb on top where it lines up with the door. Pick up the bottom seal and install it on the door by pressing firmly on it starting from the hinge and working your way out. There will be a small gap at the end that will provide enough clearance for the door to close.

Install the door latch on the strike jamb using a 5/64-inch Allen wrench to tighten the screws. Repeat the process with the other latch. Push the strike jamb into the wall jamb at the opposite end so that they wide lip faces the shower inside.

Secure the jamb using the flathead screws and a 3/32-inch Allen wrench. Install the plastic cover at the top of the strike jamb. Slide the strike seal strip into the T-slot and push it all the way down to the bottom track. Trim the excess away at the top with a utility knife so it is flush.

    • 12

Insert the hinge jamb into the wall jamb. Tighten the screws using a 3/32-inch Allen wrench. Align the door glass so that it is 3/16 inch away from the strike jamb. Tighten the screws that you left loose using a Phillips screwdriver once you have the door properly aligned. Install the knob on the door and install the plastic covers on the jambs that you have not yet installed.
