A jetted bathtub contains a motor and control device that allows you to transform your standard bathtub into your own personal spa at the push of a button. If you are installing a jetted bathtub on your own, you must ground the motor. When freed, electricity takes the most convenient path to the ground. In the event of a power surge or other electrical event that causes your jetted bathtub to malfunction, a ground wire runs from the motor to the ground -- giving the electricity a direct path to take. This reduces your risk of injury.
