Measure the walls and transfer those measurements to your sheets of cultured marble. You want to leave at least 1/8-inch anywhere the sheets terminate into the inside corners, as well as against the shower pan itself. This gap allows for movement as materials expand and shrink with the weather.
Mark the sheets of cultured marble with a pencil and tape measure. Use a chalk line to snap a line between your marks, then cut the pieces with a circular saw. Set the sheets on top of some scrap wood and set the depth of the saw so it only cuts through the sheets. Clean the dust off the back of the sheets with rubbing alcohol and an old towel.
Apply silicone adhesive to the wall where your cultured marble sheets are being installed. Insert the tube of adhesive into the caulking gun and cut the tip off with a utility knife. Squeeze the adhesive onto the wall in rows that are two or three inches apart. Press your sheets into place.
Cover some old wood scraps with towels and brace the sheets in place to give the adhesive time to dry. You can brace the sheets against each other, or against the shower pan. Do not use scraps of wood without old towels or you will scratch the cultured marble and shower pan.
Caulk all interior joints and the joint where the cultured marble sheets meet the shower pan. Use a caulking color that matches the color of your cultured marble sheets. You can also use the silicone if you want a clear look.
