How to Install a Balcony Dish

Installing a satellite TV dish on your balcony allows for maintenance-free use and avoids having to mount the dish on a roof or side of a building. All you need is a satellite tripod purchased from a satellite supply store, a coaxial cable and a Phillips screwdriver.

  Go out on your balcony. Open the legs of the satellite tripod and stand it on the balcony.

  Loosen the screws on the clamp at the top of the tripod pole with the Phillips screwdriver.

  Slide the bottom pole of the satellite dish onto the tripod pole with the transponders facing towards you. Tighten the screws to lock the clamp and secure the dish to the pole.

  Move the tripod on the balcony so the back of the satellite dish has an unobstructed view of the sky.

  Screw one end of the coaxial cable into the coax output on the satellite dish. Run the coaxial cable to the TV. Screw the other end of the coaxial cable into the coax input on the TV.
