How to Install a Breaker in a Sylvania Box

Breakers are manufactured to fit inside most types of Sylvania boxes. Though installing one yourself may seem like an intimidating prospect, especially if you lack experience, it is actually relatively simple. Therefore, you can forego the services of an electrician and do the job yourself.

      Turn off the power switch inside the Sylvania box. Use the screwdriver to remove the panel frame. The frame surrounds the breaker you wish to remove. Place the frame aside.

      Remove the breaker from the frame. Look at the wires connected to each terminal screw. With masking tape, begin to mark the spot where each wire goes.

      Connect each prong to the corresponding screw on the ground bar. Remove the wiring attached to each terminal on the breaker. Match up the wires to the brand new breaker's terminals, then screw each in place.

      Place then breaker into the Sylvania box, then screw into position. Flip on the power. Turn on the power to the breaker. Put the frame of the panel back in its original position. Close the Sylvania box.
