How to Troubleshoot a Rosetta Stone Headset

Rosetta Stone is a language learning software that offers lessons in over 30 languages. The software is available for a fee and offers interactive CDs for students to learn the language. The company also offers their own branded USB headset and microphone to listen to your language lessons. Your headset may not work properly if your computer does not initially recognize your headset or the sound configurations of the device aren't properly set.

      Try a different port. Unplug the headset and plug the device into a different port on your computer.

      Restart your computer. Click "Start" (Windows icon) from the lower-left of your screen and click "Restart" while the headset is connected.

      Check the Sound properties from the Control Panel. Click "Start" (Windows icon) from the lower-left of your screen and click "Control Panel." Click "Hardware and Sound" from the Control Panel window and then click "Sound." Click the "Playback" tab from the Sound window. Click the device "Speaker: USB Audio Device." If the device is working correctly, a green checkmark is placed next to the device and a status of "Working" is displayed. If the device isn't working properly, click the "Configure" button to open up "Speaker Setup." Right-click the headset device from the Speaker Setup Window and select "Enable."
