How to Troubleshoot Launch Failure in Rosetta Stone

Rosetta Stone is language learning software that runs on both MAC and PC computers. The software requires an Internet connection for interactive learning lessons. If you experience a black window when trying to launch the program and nothing else happens, your anti-virus program may be blocking access. Troubleshoot a launch failure in Rosetta Stone by checking your anti-virus software and changing the configuration settings.

Instructions

    • 2

Right-click the anti-virus icon located in the bottom-right of your screen.

    • 3

      Click "Disable."

    • 4

Double-click the Rosetta Stone application icon from your desktop to launch the program.

    • 5

Adjust the configuration levels of your anti-virus software so that Rosetta Stone is no longer blocked. Double-click the anti-virus application icon from the desktop. Click "Settings" and then "Firewall" and then "Add" an exception to allow Rosetta Stone.
